DIY Mudroom Corner

Even if you don’t have a full entryway, you can still carve out a practical and stylish mudroom corner. With just a few essentials, you’ll keep shoes, coats, and bags organized while giving your home a more welcoming feel. Here’s how to create your own mudroom corner in five simple steps:

Step 1: Choose Your Spot

Pick a small unused corner near your entryway, hallway, or garage door. Even a narrow wall can work as long as it’s convenient for dropping off daily essentials.

Step 2: Add Hooks or a Rack

Install sturdy wall hooks or a coat rack for jackets, hats, and bags. This keeps everything off the floor and easy to grab on your way out.

Step 3: Include Shoe Storage

Use a bench with built-in storage, a cubby system, or baskets to keep shoes organized. This prevents clutter and keeps dirt from tracking inside.

Step 4: Incorporate a Seat

A simple bench or small stool adds comfort and functionality, making it easy to sit while putting on or taking off shoes.

Step 5: Personalize the Space

Add a mirror, small rug, or baskets for gloves and scarves. A touch of décor — like family photos or a plant — makes the mudroom corner feel inviting.

Smart Finish

A thoughtfully designed mudroom corner doesn’t just keep clutter under control — it brings both style and efficiency to your everyday routine.
